Quick update, Jay Reatard has passed on as of 3:30 am yesterday morning. Reatard was a well respected garage punk from Memphis who played and lived fast. Despite quite the mean streak and a reputation for controversial outbursts Jay was a huge inspiration or me personally in the music that I play and I am deeply saddened by this loss. As facts start to surface Jay will either become a legend, or fearfully the punch line to the end of a cruel joke. Either way I will always respect him for all that he’s done. May his true eulogy be whiskey stained and set aflame.
